Skydance Paramount Set to Remove Nearly 2,000 American Positions – Report
Skydance Paramount will start large-scale job cuts beginning on 27 October, cutting approximately 2,000 American roles under a cost-cutting plan worth $2bn under new chief executive David Ellison.
The layoffs are a result of the combination of Skydance Media and Paramount Global, which closed in August worth $8.4bn.
More global layoffs are likely, as the firm planning to announce all specifics during its Q3 financial results scheduled for November 10.
Previous updates had indicated the firm aimed to eliminate between 2,000 and 3,000 jobs by early November.
As of December 2024, Paramount had almost 18,600 full- and part-time employees plus 3,500 temporary project employees.
The organization has not provided a response on the matter.
