Major Internet Disruption Affects Numerous Online Platforms and Apps

A large-scale internet failure has disrupted many online platforms and apps globally, with users reporting troubles getting online following issues at Amazon’s cloud computing platform.

The impacted apps include Snapchat, Roblox, Signal, and Duolingo, along with a host of Amazon-owned operations such as its main retail platform and the Ring security device manufacturer.

Across the United Kingdom, Lloyds bank was affected in addition to its subsidiaries Halifax and the Scottish bank, while there were additional accounts of difficulties reaching the HM Revenue and Customs site on Monday morning. Additionally in Britain, multiple Ring device owners turned to social media to complain their home gadgets were failing.
